TIKI Newsletter November '22
New faces, new graphics, & new content as we near SDK release. Gobble Gobble!
It’s almost Thanksgiving time here in America (sorry Barry and Ricardo; it’s a standard work week for you two!) and that means a few things:
It’s the perfect time to give thanks. To everyone who has played even a small part in helping us at TIKI get to where we are today, the whole team wants to extend an enormous and heartfelt THANK YOU!
We never take for granted the tremendous opportunity this journey has provided for us, and as cliché as it sounds, it is clear we could not have got to this point without you.Our SDK release is right around the corner. We really wanted to get this out back before Halloween, but we’re learning that even when things are hectic and speed becomes a necessary component of your output, it’s important to make sure this product launch is something we are definitively proud of. Getting things to that point has been littered with setbacks and unexpected wrenches being thrown into the equation, but we’re so close to getting this out there and we know it’s going to be awesome when we release it to the world.
New Faces at TIKI
Over the past few weeks, the TIKI team has increased by two with Vignesh Sanathkumar and Tim O’Guin joining us in part-time roles!
As you can see above, Vignesh will be working on Product Design for TIKI while Tim will play a role growing our Developer Communities. We are very excited to see what these two bring to the table, and their presence is already paying immediate dividends. Check their LinkedIn profiles (linked above) to view their impressive resumés!
Tim has been actively introducing us to developers in the Nashville area, and Vignesh has already improved our branding and social media assets, including updating some of our brand fonts and providing slick new icons and banners for our social media channels.
So Fresh, So Clean
Right out of the gate, Vignesh has helped us out with some much needed flare to our social media branding. If you check out our YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Discord, and Github pages, you’ll be greeted with some of our awesome new graphics, courtesy of Vignesh. Even this Substack page has them. We’re excited by the new look: it’s easy to tell it’s still TIKI but the images are sharper and more professional. It’s nice to know when new (and returning) faces come across TIKI after our SDK launch that we know the assets will be looking so fresh and so clean.
Did I mention the new version of our website is live? We’re still working on the user and SDK pages, but the home landing page is up and running. Shout out to our friends at IDS for the help here! And yes, Vignesh helped out here, too!
Let’s Have Ourselves a Vote!
On the content side of things, we’ve been leaning heavily into YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikToks to highlight some bingeable short-form content. So far, we’ve been seeing the most success on YouTube, so, let’s choose YouTube for a vote:
Which of Vignesh’s designed banners would you like to see on the TIKI YouTube page? Take a peek at our Figma and scroll over to the YouTube section (or peep the graphic above) to take a look at the proposed banner designs. There are 12 of them, so starting from the top row and moving left to right (1-3),then down to the second row left to right (4-6),etc, vote on which one you like best!
We can only add five options to this poll, so if the banner 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 option wins, we can put up a new poll in the next newsletter :)
FAQ Clips Incoming!
We’re testing out short-form content, as mentioned above, and we’re starting off killing two birds with one stone (there’s gotta be a less deadly version of this idiom, right?) by simultaneously testing short-form content and creating some handy new video FAQs! Classic text FAQs will follow, but in the meantime, check out some of our FAQ shorts:
View the rest here. We’ve got about 35 more incoming (at least) so stay tuned! Mike is just about ready to be done with them, but director Shane has other ideas.
DAO Stuff!
The TIKI DAO will allow for users to really get the most out of our technology in accordance with the release of our SDK. Here’s a few informative blogs to get the ball rolling:
Get Your Podcast Fix!
TIKI Talk episodes 36, 37 & 38 are all internal TIKI podcasts! In episode 36, Mike covers the investor update (featured in our October newsletter) in audio/video format. In episode 37, Shane tries his hand going solo, and in episode 38, we get as transparent as possible covering what happened after a major potential investor dropped out in the 11th hour, and what it means for TIKI moving forward. If you only have time for one episode, this is the one we would recommend!
Episode 36 video Investor Update, (For Everyone!)
Episode 38 video Don’t Panic, Prioritize!
Also, Shane goes guest-mode by visiting Taylor Berryman and hopping on to episode 168 of The Poptimist podcast! Click the image to listen on Spotify:
Stay tuned for more SDK content by keeping tabs on our Substack and social feeds. We’re thiiiiiiiis close to introducing the world to something truly awesome.
Have wonderful and joyous Thanksgiving if you celebrate. Make sure to play Adam Sandler’s “Thanksgiving Song” at least once. Okay, at least twice.
‘Til Next Time,
Shane & The TIKI Team
