It’s still February, but things are really starting to heat up here in Nashville…and for TIKI as we hit our most critical juncture to date.
We’ve got a product, we’ve got customers that want to use it, and now it is up to us to deliver. If you’ve been following us, you know that earlier this month we put all the chips on the table and decided to hone in on a single use-case for our product, that being the licensing and relicensing of user data. This endeavor and all of its components are known internally as Project Búzios, named by our very own Brazilian, Ricardo.
We’ve got to keep the names under wraps until the TIKI SDK is live on their products, but we have prominent companies lined up and interested in being a TIKI customer, and all we have to do now is execute. If we nail this, we have a full-fledged, market-ready product that people WANT, and finally, in the words of Mike, we will become a “real company.”
Barry mentioned in our weekly sprint planning this morning that we can look back and objectively see just how far we’ve come in two years to get to this point in time. It’s not exactly what we had envisioned when we started (is anything ever, really?) but after iterating, iterating, and iterating again, we’ve built something we’re truly proud of that we hope users and businesses will love.
So, what better way to kick off the February newsletter than Mike showcasing the TIKI Developer Demo App where he demonstrates how to create immutable data ownership and data license/consent records —the backbone of consumer data licensing.
Mike will continue the Build With TIKI segment, so if you’re not already subscribed to our YouTube channel, go ahead and do so if you’d like to see Mike’s videos right when they drop.
If you want a more in-depth breakdown of Búzios, Mike has got you covered there as well in TIKI Talk Episode 49 (which also features a breakdown of the new content strategy), and also in his own video and blog.
Totally Cool Tech!
A few weeks ago we dropped a little teaser video for another one of our new segments, Totally Cool Tech. Well, Shane edited it up a bit and the first episode has gone live. TCT highlights cool companies and projects solving problems in a novel way. Episode One features Plausible, an open-source web analytics platform and (cooler) alternative to Google Analytics!
TIKI Tech News Today!
In yet another new segment, Shane has been rising early to deliver TIKI Tech News Today a shorts-style comedic newsdesk featuring all the news we can fit under one minute between the hours of 8-10 central time. Shane only has a limited range of jokes, so Friday has turned into Friday Focus, a more serious take on a currently relevant topic. Here’s one of each!
And if you’d like the full playlist, they all live (and will continue to live) on this YouTube playlist.
More News From DAO Land
Barry is still hard at work creating the TIKI DAO and has offered a unique lens into the process with his weekly blog series that lets readers follow Barry in real-time as he builds, iterates, and doodles (poorly). The January newsletter featured two blogs, and here’s the next 3!
Barry is also getting into video content as well as he talks on all things DAO and DAO relevant!
TIKI Talk Hits 50!
Earlier today, Shane recorded Episode #50 of the TIKI Talk Podcast! Quite the milestone and quite the journey from what started as Mike and Shane riffing on internal TIKI happenings and evolved into more structured internal riffing and the introduction of amazing guests from around the world. Episode 50 is due for release on Wednesday, so that will get a showcase in the March newsletter, but here are 3 great podcasts to sink your teeth into.
Episode 46 features author, executive health & performance advisor, atelier, and the founder of Executive Health, Julian Hayes II!
Episode 47 features brand strategist, marketing consultant, and founder of RielDeal Brands, Stephanie Riel!
Episode 48 features doctor of occupational therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) specialist, and author Keagen Hadley!
Ricardo Gets Technical!
Last but not least, Ricardo has posted a developer blog!
Distributing Swift Packages with binary dependencies can be tricky because of the Release and Debug build configurations.
In this post Ricardo explains how we solved this problem for TIKI SDK iOS.
And that’s a wrap! As you can see, things are really picking up on the content side of things with everyone getting involved (which Shane is very grateful for). Project Búzios is in full gear and March 15th is the tentative date for our next major announcement related to our product. If we execute like we know we can, Barry will have an extra reason to celebrate on St. Patrick’s Day (as if he needed one)!
‘Til next time!
Much love,
The TIKI Team
